According to some experts, Ayurveda has much more to offer when it comes to hair loss treatment compared to other forms of medicines.




One of the most famous and widely accepted ways to counter hair loss is the use of Brahmi oil (is form of scent less hair oil is prepared in pure coconut oil with 22 exotic Ayurvedic herbs, the Brahmi being the major herbal component). Apart from hair loss, its been widely used to deal with dry hair, sleeplessness, mental equilibrium, itchy & scaly scalp, anxiety etc. Unlike western medicines, it has no side effect and using it is very simple. Apply 2-3 teaspoons of brahmi oil into scalp & message gently for 10 minutes. You can use a conditioning shampoo to remove the oil.

Every morning, eat a handful of white sesame seeds, because they contain sufficient amounts of magnesium and calcium that are essential for the growth of your hair.
Take nutritious diet full of Vitamin C, sulfur, iron, zinc, Vitamin B-Complex and essential fatty acids. Avoid all types of junk foods. Avoid Vitamin A as overdose of vitamin A may cause hair loss. The diet should be well balanced and must contain green leafy vegetables, sprouts, salads, milk, fruits, proteins, soybean etc.
Oils (Sesame, Coconut, Bhringaasava, Amla Oil) should be applied to the scalp on a regular basis as it nourishes, lubricates and strengthens the roots of the hair by improving blood flow circulation to the head.
Make a paste of cooked Urad dal (black beans) and fenugreek (methi) and wash your hair with this paste 3-4 times a week.
Mix lettuce with spinach and take it on a regular basis, as it stimulate hair growth.
Everyday, consume some yogurt.
Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, milk, salads, fruits, and sprouts in your diet. Consume enough proteins, yeast, wheat germ, buttermilk, whole grains, nuts, soya beans, and milk.
Moderate intake of vitamins.
Decrease the consumption of alcohol.
Consume the foods that contain sulfur, zinc, vitamin-B complex, vitamin C and essential fatty acids.
Rinsing your hair in apple cider vinegar and sage tea stimulates the growth of the hair.
Licorice extracts help in preventing the hair loss.
Horsetail is the best source of silica, which helps to keep your hair strong and look shiny and sleek.
Use stinging nettle, rosemary, birch, and horsetail to massage your scalp regularly for stimulating the hair growth.
Tea made from burdock and marshmallow is good for dry hair.

Mix up a spoon of camphor to half a cup of coconut oil. Instead of coconut you can use neem oil otherwise. Keep this mixture in a air tight container, preferably a glass container and use this oil to massage your scalp before going to bed. Practice this continuously for at least 15 days and feel the difference of your healthy scalp. After 15 days do it for alternate days for the best of result.
Add a spoon of castor oil, mustard oil and little coconut (or neem) oil and massage your scalp every night and have a shampoo the day next.
Massage the scalp gently with coconut or almond oil daily for 10 to 15 minutes.
Boil neem leaves in water. Cool, strain and rinse hair with it.
Increase green leafy vegetables, salads, milk, fruits and sprouts in the diet. Take more proteins, milk, buttermilk, yeast, wheat germ, Soya beans, whole grains and nuts.

A hair-friendly diet should emphasize proteins, iron, zinc, sulfur, Vitamin C, Vitamin B-Complex and essential fatty acids.
Use should be made of hair analysis to ascertain toxicity levels and nutritional deficiencies.
Oils, for example sesame and coconut, should be applied to the scalp to nourish, lubricate and strengthen the roots. This will also improve circulation to the head.
